I'm supposed to meet a college friend tonight
…but it’s 23:30 and I feel like he’s not going to call. I just want to know if I can start mixing Toasted Marshmallow vodka mixed with Root Beer and read Strangers in Paradise in bed.

“ To be quite frank, if I had simply hopped in a car and driven I’d have been there in about 20 minutes, and the whole thing would’ve been nothing more than about an hour’s entertainment that wouldn’t be worth a status update on FB, let alone something to tumbl about. However, since I did this by bike in the deep of winter, it turned into quite a little noteworthy adventure. This is one of the things that has caused cycling to turn from something that I merely did for financial reasons into an integral and beloved part of my life. ”—
I can’t figure out if this touring bike is real or if it’s just fancy.
QR Codes Are the Roller-Skating Horses of Advertising
altidude: Plenty of people call QR codes today’s CueCat — but a roller-skating horse is much funnier.
I’d never heard of the CueCat, but it’s impossible to not see a frowny face in their logo, which is made all the more funny by their total failure. :C

HOLY CRAP THERE IS A FUCKING BREAD TURTLE ON YOUR DASH RIGHT NOW.
YOU BETTER REBLOG THIS SHIT.
Spinlister: Peer-To-Peer Bike Sharing Gets Rolling
This is test launching in a couple of cities in California. I have a lot of thoughts on this, but I don’t have enough time to sort through them all at the moment.
My initial thoughts are: Maybe, but I’m not convinced.
Sweden Plans A New Superhighway For Cyclists
The latest to emerge is in Sweden, where there’s a proposal to build a 12.5-mile bike superhighway to connect the college town of Lund to the metropolis of Malmö. This supercykelväg, as the Swedes call it, would have two lanes in each direction with fences and landscaping to both separate it from traffic and provide wind protection. In a brilliant addition, the plans also call for multiple bike service stations along the route.
What part of human evolution compels us towards these actions?
Also, I’m surprised nobody climbed anything to get on top of it.
AM I MISSING THE POINT OF THIS POST, IAMBAL!?!?!?!??
Sen. Paul stopped by TSA at airport, law enforcement denies it was a detention
iambal: HAHAHAHAA!!!! ”rational thought and logical arguments”- this from someone who wondered how conservatives would feel about violations of privacy!
And next time, just don’t use my posts to edit and cut and twist stories to mean things they don’t on topics they aren’t about.
#irony is lost on the stupid #another one bites the block
Okay I am ending this right here, because it’s obvious you are not even reading what I am saying.
1) I don’t wonder how conservatives feel about violations of privacy, particularly Rand/Ron Paul supporters. It’s quite apparent how they feel.
2) I asked you not to be condescending or insulting, both of which you nailed quite firmly on the head.
3) I already told you I was going to use fresh links so there was no need to tell me to use fresh links.
Enjoy your small, bitter world.
Sen. Paul stopped by TSA at airport, law enforcement denies it was a detention
…Paul refused [a pat down], resisting on the grounds that it infringes on his rights and “private property.”
littletinyfish: I wonder how well that statement would go over with the anti-choice rally to which he was heading when he was detained.
iambal: 2 things about this reblog:
1. I bet it would go over great since “anti-choice” people are traditionally conservative and conservatives typically think all government anything is over-reaching and an infringement on property rights.
So what’s your point, honey?
You see, if you wanted to make the zinger you were TRYING to make, you would’ve said something like, that’s how the women who you are trying to deny access to abortion feel about their uterus. But you just really wanted to try to insult a whole bunch of conservatives, and so you fucked it all up. OOPS!
(and psssst… using one of my posts to make a statement about abortion is really fucking stupid also since I have recently taken on several of my fellow conservatives because I SUPPORT REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS FOR WOMEN. OOOPS again, sweetie!)2. I love how you reblogged a post and reduced it to only one line that didn’t address what actually happened. In fact, you have little of anything left of the original post that would even match the headline you did leave in tact. Then you dug up an issue, abortion, which had NOTHING to do with the original post. You have a bright fucking future at CNN!
Wow.
I’m sorry, but this has nothing to do with you. I mean, sure, technically I reblogged the link you posted, but really I was just after the link. I suppose I could have clicked through and linked to it afresh, thereby sparing you my opinion, but what can I say, Tumblr has made me lazy. Reusing an existing link was just faster.
The reason I deleted everything you said was that it wasn’t relevant to the point I was trying to make. I mean, I agree with what you said, the TSA is pretty awful, but I wanted to talk about something else. If it makes you feel any better, I deleted everything mercurypdx said as well, and as far as I know, we’re still cool.
I didn’t fuck up the point I was trying to make because my audience is smart enough to understand the irony of taking away one person’s rights while complaining that their own are being trampled upon. “Yes,” my audience would have said, “it would have gone over well with that crowd and that is a sad fact,” they would have said.
I don’t know whether you support the right to choose or if you want to ban all abortions. My intent was not to argue this with you because I don’t follow you. I don’t know anything about you. You were not even the last thing on my mind when I reblogged that link because you were not on my mind at all.
I would throw out a pedestrian insult like, “Wow, your tendency towards rage would net you a great follow up show to Bill O’Reilly, but I don’t watch network news so I have no idea which way CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, CurrentTV, etc. are currently spinning. They’re all equally awful. I read from lots of different sources so I can weigh the merits and flaws of various claims. And for christ sake, that type of insult is something my grandpa uses. “Communist News Network, amirite?”
When it comes to politics, leave the insults and condescension at home. Less emboldening and emphasizing. You look like a ranting amateur and nobody will want to talk with you because it’s not productive, it’s just mean. You’ll become insulated from outside opinions and you’ll start to lack perspective. Then your arguments will get even worse. Then you’ll find yourself on Literally Unbelievable and everyone will laugh at your expense.
This is not a “sides” thing. We’re in this together. Stick with rational thought and logical arguments and you’ll get a lot further. And next time I want to make a point, I’ll make sure it’s a fresh link.
